沈桂贤：应慎重探讨反假新闻法令的影响
砂地方政府及房屋部部长拿督沈桂贤说，国会无需急着通过反假新闻法令。 也是上议员的沈桂贤说，他希望在下周可以参与反假新闻法案的辩论，因为该法案对政治人、政府及个人都影响深远。 “我们了解反假新闻的重要性，但与此同时，避免该法案被滥用，限制言论自由也同等重要。” 沈桂贤在古晋新协协会晚宴上致词时说，在法案通过之前，必须慎重探讨各方面因素，避免日后带来负面影响。 他也呼吁新闻从业员提升素质及廉政，以确保公众对新闻业保持信任。 他强调，任何报导必须有确实的消息来源，若是随意撰写新闻，将会影响社会对新闻从业员和媒体本身的信任。
Health Department excellent service award
A total of 836 staff of the state Health Department received excellent service awards yesterday. They comprised those from the southern zone – Kuching, Samarahan, Serian and Sri Aman. Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian presented the award during the gathering held at Penview Convention Centre here.
