党主席访问古晋支部
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员今日访问古晋支部,与该支部领袖与党员交流。 无论如何,他并没向外界公布出战浮罗岸选区的准候选人名单。按照传统,浮罗岸区候选人向来都是由古晋支部推荐。 沈桂贤表示,他已经接获该支部提呈3个名字,而他亦很快会公布该名字。 据传,古晋支部财政吴令佑、副主席贝仁武及宣教秘书包久松,是潜在的候选人。 不过沈桂贤今日表示,候选人极可能来自青年团,因为人联党注重年轻人的栽培。 他说,党需要更多年轻人,而对于许多年轻才俊加入人联党,他感到欣慰。
五小新春联欢会
古晋中华小学第五校今早欢庆新年,学生与家长都踊跃参与。 砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员受邀担任活动主宾,在场包括晋汉连省华总会长天猛公刘金荣、古晋中华小学校董会主席王长福、五小校董会副主席田招炎、校董田松茂及人联青宣教秘书符祥威律师。 现场除了有精彩的舞狮舞龙表演之外,还有学生们呈献舞蹈演出。
提升石角下沙垅西里益路
长达4.1公里的石角下沙垅西里益路,在乡区转型工程中获得提升,并从即日起动工。 砂人联党魁拿督沈桂贤医生上议员昨日中午巡视有关工程后受访表示,此项道路提升工程共耗资62万令吉,并已获得砂州首长拿督巴丁宜阿迪南批准拨款,同时有关路段除了左右加阔2尺并铺上新的柏油。 他亦透露,由于在提升道路的同时,也将提升当地水管及电线等设施,加上此道路车流量多,因此提升工程预计以3个月放能竣工。 巡视道路提升工程出席者包括了人联党石角支部主席陈如飞、石角支部秘书林亚德、人联党圣陶沙支部主席兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强等。
砂中央医院新春联欢会
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员于今日出席砂中央医院举行的新春联欢会。 他在活动上,与医护人员交流,并分享他过去在中央医院服务的经验。 他认为,新春联欢会除了可以增进医护人员的情谊,还可借此感激与肯定他们的工作贡献。
SUPP potential candidates
There was no announcement yet on the potential candidates in Kuching Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) branch yesterday when President of the party, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian paid a Chinese New Year visit there. When asked, Dr. Sim said there were three names given to him and they were not ready to announce the candidate yet. He said the name will be announced soon. Hokkien Association CNY gathering
The Hokkien Association held a Chinese new year gathering at the Chung Hua Primary School No 3 on Thursday night at the school hall. During the function, the Association held out a banner proclaiming their support to Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian. Dr. Sim has been actively involved in assisting Chinese schools in terms of school maintenance and upgrading the school facilities. He often joined the school board of management to attend school functions and give pep talks to students.
Joining in SMK Pending CNY celebration
SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian attended the Majlis Ramah Tamah Tahun Baru Cina SMK Pending (1972) @ Dewan Global, SMK Pending. Dr Sim said he enjoyed spending time visiting schools and encouraging youngsters to do their best in their studies towards good careers. He said when he was teaching medical students and share a common passion in the medical field in advance cardiology fellowship, he was thrilled to discover new talents from among his students. SMK Pending has 1,400 students with 142 teaching staff.
