沈桂贤：社区领袖退党不意外
砂人联党中央秘书长拿督沈桂贤上议员强调，人联党是走多元种族路线的政党，党员背景来自不同文化、背景及专业领域，不单单只是社区领袖而已。 他说，人联党对于一些社区领袖选择退党，并加入联民党的举动不感到意外，因为这些决定都早已露出迹象。 退党理由属个人因素 他表示，根据人联党获得的回应，尤其是领袖所接获几乎不休止的来电，还有社交媒体上的留言，绝大多数的砂州人民，特别是砂州华社，都知道这些社区领袖离开人联党，其理由更多是为了个人因素。 与此同时，沈桂贤也对于声称退党的社区领袖，却没向党呈上正式的退党信，感到疑惑。 他强调，人联党并不喜欢开除任何人，任何人要退党，应要根据正规程序，呈上退党信。 党需依章行事 “无论如何，很遗憾的，当有些人自称已是联民党一份子，人联党没有其他选择，除了依据党章行事。” 他说，在来临党代之前，党必须采取一些行动，整顿内部。 他也强调，人联党还有很多对党忠心的党员，并前还会建立一个团结的队伍，让党朝向转型，继续为民服务，捍卫砂州人民的权益。
