CWC dialogue in sibu

SUPP will have to take stringent action against those who are seen to be disloyal to the party, said Senator Datuk Sim Kui Hian today.

Sim said SUPP is a multi racial political party with members from different social and professional back grounds and not only made up of Chinese community leaders of which a number are seen to be in the UPP’s launching.

“We saw this coming and from the feedback which was voiced out through the social media, friends and supporters, there is a loud cry of injustice against SUPP. I can only say these community leaders left SUPP to UPP for reasons best known to themselves. The worst is that they do not have the common courtesy to resign. We have been waiting for the resignation letters as SUPP does not like to sack any of the members,” he said.

Sim pointed out that as SUPP is heading towards on building a stronger party as the internal conflicts is a thing of the past, the party is now forced to take more stringent action against disloyal members. “We have to as some of those in the UPP are even our delegates. We will take swift action against this group of disloyal members before the Triennial delegates conference in September,” he said.

Stating that the party is not short of loyal members, they look forward to have a united team to transform themselves into a new progressive team with the formost importance goal of servicing and fighting for the people of Sarawak. “We will make it,” he vowed.

UPP is headed by former Sibu SUPP Chairman, Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh who was embroiled in a long internal struggle after he and his group boycotted the 2011 TDC meeting. Wong has joined up with Teras on May 15 and two months later, set up his own party UPP.

The party was launched Sunday where about 200 people attended.

In Sibu today,  SUPP Central working committee leaders met up with Sibu branches where a dialogue was held. The CWC delegates are on a working trip state-wide building up their support.
