Supp to coordinate newly launched MyBeras program
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party ( S UPP) wants to help coordinate the delivery of the 20kg free rice per needy family under the newly launched MyBeras program as announced by the Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib yesterday.
SUPP in all the cities and towns in Sarawak have the means and network to monitor that these rice reach the target groups said Adam Yii, Pujut SUPP Chairman .
SUPP branches at all levels would be most willing to liaise with the relevant Federal and State agencies on this program.
He said SUPP will also deploy volunteers n members to assist in the ground delivery.
This is a very good and noble program amongst the other 10 initiatives announced by the Prime Minister.
SUPP also commended the nimbleness of the government to adapt to the deterioration of the economic environment due to the plunging of the global crude oil prices and downturn of China economy. The budget recalibration signified the seriousness of the government to ensure the economic fundamentals of the country will remain resilient and intact. Moreover the government is mindful of the lower income group of the society and come up with several measures to cushion the impact to the hard core poor families. MyBeras is a good initiative to assist the hard core poor in this difficult time.
