SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB)
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by seven individuals to assist them with their predicament/problem of a court action for the eviction from a parcel of land in Matang near Kuching on which they have been occupying for the last 30 years.
According to Puan Hatijah, she have been occupying the house built on the land given to her by her late father for the past thirty (30) years and that she had given permission to six other individuals who are her relatives to build their house on the said land.
Puan Hatijah clarified that her late father had given the land to her and her adopted brother in equal half (1/2) share each.
Puan Hatijah further affirmed that she has never sold her land to anyone before and that she had never signed any document of transfer.
She also produced the original copy of a police report that she lodged on 23rd May 1983 to verify her claim.
She and her 6 other relatives are fearful of being evicted from their houses as they and their family members will become homeless as they do not own any other properties.
All of the seven individuals do not know who to turn to for help until informed of the existence of SUPP Public Complaints Bureau.
After listening and discussing with the parties concerned, Wilfred Yap who is also a lawyer, sympathized with the seven individuals on the problem faced and promised that he will try his very best to assist them in Court.
