MPP lucky draw attracts 33,000 entries from responsible ratepayers

Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Tan Kai said the council’s inaugural “Pay Assessment Rate and Stand a Chance to Win” Lucky Draw campaign received an overwhelming response, with 33,000 eligible entries qualifying for the prize draw.

Speaking during the lucky draw session, Tan Kai thanked ratepayers for their strong support, describing the campaign’s success as a reflection of the commitment shown by thousands of responsible property owners throughout the MPP area.

He said the campaign, which ran from February 26 to May 31, 2026, was introduced to encourage property owners to pay their assessment rates on time, clear outstanding arrears, and reward those who consistently fulfilled their responsibilities.

Tan Kai said eligibility was automatically granted to individual property owners registered under the MPP Assessment Rating System who had fully settled both the first and second half of their 2026 assessment rates and had no outstanding arrears as of May 31.

He said the digital lucky draw system ensured a transparent, fair and unbiased selection process, giving every eligible participant an equal opportunity to win.

Tan Kai said assessment rate payments are a vital source of revenue that enables MPP to enhance public services, including road maintenance, street lighting, drainage systems, solid waste collection, public parks, recreational facilities, cleanliness programmes and other municipal services that benefit the community.

He said the council was offering prizes worth RM20,000, including two Samsung 65 inch Smart televisions, a Samsung 9kg Heat Pump dryer, a Samsung 10kg front load washing machine and two Samsung 583 litre side by side refrigerators.

Tan Kai expressed hope that the campaign would strengthen public awareness of the importance of paying assessment rates promptly while fostering closer cooperation between MPP and the community in building a cleaner, safer and more sustainable Padawan.

He also thanked the public for their continued trust, cooperation and support for the council and wished all eligible participants the best of luck in the lucky draw.

The lucky draw winners were Arando ak Arthur, Mohd Mubarak bin Abdullah Suit, Heng Chen How, Albert Tong, Kilau anak Ranged and Awang Kauma bin Pengairan Ali Baharu.
