Wilfred Yap Witnesses Official Completion of Phase 2 RTP 2025 Upgrading Works at Seven Mile Basketball Mini Stadium

Kota Sentosa Assemblyman Yap Yau Sin today visited the Seven Mile Basketball Mini Stadium together with officers from the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) to witness the official completion of the Phase 2 RTP 2025 upgrading project for the community sports facility.

The completed project, implemented under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025 allocation, involved major upgrading works aimed at improving facilities, convenience and accessibility for residents, youths and sports enthusiasts in Kota Sentosa and surrounding areas.

Among the completed works were:

Construction of two new changing rooms equipped with shower facilities;

Resurfacing works at the basketball court area;

Construction of new car parks;

Creation of a new entrance to improve traffic flow and accessibility.

YB Wilfred Yap said the upgrading project reflects the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Government’s continuous commitment towards improving community infrastructure and promoting healthy sporting activities among youths.

According to YB Yap, the Seven Mile Basketball Mini Stadium has long served as an important venue for community and youth activities, and the upgraded facilities will provide a safer, more comfortable and more conducive environment for sports development.

During the visit, YB Wilfred Yap also expressed appreciation to the Padawan Municipal Council officers for their close coordination throughout the implementation of the project as well as to contractor An-Nashr Resources for successfully completing the works.

He added that the improved facilities would benefit not only basketball players and sports associations but also residents who utilise the venue for community events and recreational activities.

YB Wilfred Yap reaffirmed his commitment to continue identifying and implementing people-centric development projects under RTP allocations to improve public amenities and quality of life for residents in Kota Sentosa.
