RTP 2025 Upgrade at SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim Benefits Students and Teachers

Kota Sentosa State assemblyman Wilfred Yap witnessed the official handover of the Letter of Award for the Rural Transformation Programme RTP Project 2025 involving the upgrading of SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim at Kem Semenggo Phase 2.

The handover ceremony was also witnessed by Semenggo Camp Commander Lieutenant Colonel Badrul Hisham, together with officers from the Public Works Department JKR. The project, implemented through the cabut undi contractor Syarikat Pakar Bumiputra, involves an allocation of RM300,000 and is expected to directly benefit both students and teachers.

Yap said the Sarawak Government under GPS would not allow students to be affected by delays at the federal level.

“Although education falls under federal jurisdiction, the Sarawak Government chooses to act. We will not let our children wait while policies take time to materialise. Our priority is to ensure schools in Sarawak continue to progress,” he said.

He said the RTP upgrade goes beyond physical infrastructure and reflects the state government’s commitment to the future of children in Sarawak.

“This RM300,000 allocation is not just about buildings. It is about providing safer classrooms, a better learning environment and facilities that support quality education. This is how Sarawak governs, with action, accountability and results,” he added.

Yap stressed that the initiative also reflects Sarawak’s broader educational approach in ensuring students are not disadvantaged.

“Our children’s future must be protected. Sarawak will continue to take proactive steps to support education and provide equal opportunities for every student,” he said.

He added that the handover reaffirmed the GPS Sarawak administration’s commitment to development and nation building.

“Sarawak is not a passive observer. We are active partners in building the nation. Effective governance means acting, not waiting,” he said.
