Don’t Give In To Loansharks, Says Milton Foo
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Milton Foo advise victims of loan sharks not to give in to the demand or the victims will face life-long harassment for more payment.
Foo said loan sharks will never stop at the first payment the victims paid up. Instead he warned that it will go on and on once the loan sharks knew that they had victims in thier grip.
A young mother, Chong with two young children was asked by a loanshark to pay up RM 500, debts of which was incurred by her estranged husband.
Foo said if Chong paid up the RM 500, more demands and more threats, blackmailing will continue.
He said Chong did the right thing by not paying up and instead lodged a police report.
“In the first place, the loan was not hers and her husband had been separated from her for the past 7 years with no contact. The loan shark should not go after innocent target,” he said.
Foo urged authorities to investigate ad the victim has the phone number of the gangster.
