Wilfred Yap Inspects Completion of RTP Drainage Upgrade in Kota Sentosa
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has carried out the final inspection of the RTP 2023 drainage upgrading project at Jalan Kuching Ranger Depo, Batu Tujuh, together with officers from the Sarawak Public Works Department.
The RM300 thousand project involved upgrading about 300 metres of roadside drains to tackle long standing issues of flash floods, water overflow and soil erosion in the area.
Yap said he was satisfied that the works were completed according to specifications and within the revised schedule.
This upgraded drainage system is an important improvement for residents, road users and nearby facilities. For many years, heavy rainfall caused frequent flooding in front of the Kota Sentosa Library and surrounding commercial and residential areas. The completion today is a meaningful step towards making the area safer and more resilient, he said.
Yap added that RTP allocations continue to play a vital role in addressing daily issues faced by local communities.
As ADUN Kota Sentosa, my priority is to ensure every sen of RTP funding benefits the people. This project shows our commitment to listen to the ground, solve problems and deliver improvements that matter, he said.
He also thanked residents, shop owners and road users for their patience during the construction period and assured that more small but high impact projects will continue in Kota Sentosa.
