Sebastian Ting Inspects Near Completed Upgrade Works at SMK St Columba
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting, has approved a allocation of 100 thousand ringgit under the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme to upgrade several facilities at SMK St Columba. The project is now nearing completion.
Ting recently visited the school to inspect the progress of the works. He said the funding was used mainly to install new tiles at the biology laboratory to provide a better quality learning environment for science lessons, build a new long jump facility to support physical education and athletics training, and upgrade the school walkway to improve safety and accessibility for students and teachers.
He said the Sarawak Government will continue to channel funds under the Rural Transformation Programme to support improvements to school infrastructure and public health facilities.
According to him, upgrading school facilities not only enhances the learning environment but also provides students with a more conducive space for holistic development.
