Completion Of Drains And Pedestrians Walk In BDC
Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin today witnessed the official completion of a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project worth RM200,000 to upgrade drainage and pedestrian walkways near SK Satria Jaya, BDC.
Implemented by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and carried out by Permata Kukuh Sdn. Bhd, the project covered areas between SK Satria Jaya, BDC Lorong B2, and BDC Lorong B3A.
Completed one month ahead of schedule, the project has improved drainage efficiency, provided safer pedestrian access, and enhanced overall connectivity for nearby residents and school children.
Yap thanked MBKS officers for their close supervision and effective management, as well as the contractor for delivering high-quality work on time.
“This project resolves a long-standing issue for residents and the school community, where the old and untidy drains often caused blockages and stagnant water. The upgraded facilities now ensure smoother water flow, cleaner surroundings, and safer access for students and pedestrians,” he said.
He added that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts under the RTP to upgrade public infrastructure and improve living conditions in Kota Sentosa.
Yap stated his commitment to continue working with MBKS and relevant agencies to identify and implement more people-oriented projects that enhance community well-being and safety.
