MPP Halts Unauthorized Earthwork Activities
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has blocked access to an earthwork site along Jalan Segubang after the activities were carried out without the Council’s road permit.
The works had caused inconvenience to local road users and damaged Council-maintained roads. Despite repeated warnings and engagement with the landowner to obtain the necessary permit, compliance was not achieved.
MPP has installed a barrier to deny entry, effectively stopping all ongoing work at the site.
MPP Chairman Cr. Tan Kai reminded developers and landowners in the Padawan area that any works involving Council roads require a valid road permit. “All parties must be responsible when using public roads and comply with Council regulations,” he said. “Road safety is a shared responsibility, and the Council will continue to work with relevant authorities to enforce compliance and protect road users.”
Access to the Jalan Segubang site remains restricted by the Council.
