Lo Khere Chiang: Family Day Strengthens Bonds and Nurtures Creativity
Batu Kitang State assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang said the CreativeKids Family Day serves as a reminder that education is not only just books and exams but also about creativity, discovery, and character development.
Speaking at the event held at The Grand Hall, Association of Churches in Sarawak today, Lo said he was delighted to see the joy, energy, and togetherness displayed throughout the day’s activities, from art and colouring contests to cupcake decorating and family games.
“This celebration is not only about contests or prizes. It is about families spending time together, teachers guiding with love, and children showing us their imagination and courage. In that sense, every child here is already a winner,” he said.
Lo also expressed gratitude to parents for supporting their children, noting that their encouragement helps children dream bigger and achieve more.
“When our children grow up in homes filled with love, encouragement, and opportunities to learn, they will carry that strength into their communities and into the future of our region,” he added.
He also commended the teachers and organisers for nurturing not just academic knowledge but also values such as creativity, teamwork, and resilience.
“What we have seen today reminds us that giving our children opportunities like this allows them to shine in their own unique ways and prepares them to become the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Lo added by congratulating all participants and winners, thanking the organisers, sponsors, teachers, and families for making the event meaningful.
“May today strengthen the bonds between parents and children, between teachers and students, and between all of us as one caring community,” he said.
