Soft Launch of Regatta Telaga Air 2025
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is pleased to announce that registration for the Regatta Telaga Air 2025 officially opens today, 15 August 2025. The deadline for submission of registration forms is 5 September 2025 at 5.00 pm. This flagship event will take place from 26 to 28 September 2025, inviting local residents and water sports enthusiasts to join the exciting regatta competition.
The Regatta promises an atmosphere of spirited competition and strong community involvement. MPP encourages all local residents and regatta fans to register and participate in this sporting event, which showcases skill and teamwork.
Registration forms are available at the MPP Office, Kota Padawan Community & Corporate Development Division (Tel: 082-615566, from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm) or from Mr Mohamad Bin Arip (Tel: 019-8780438).
To ensure smooth operations and the safety of all participants and crew members, MPP and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Telaga Air will work closely with various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia Sarawak, Sarawak Enforcement and Security Unit (UKPS), Sarawak Marine Department, Civil Defence Force (APM), Sarawak Rivers Board (LSS), Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), RELA, and the Ministry of Health (KKM).
MPP remains committed to promoting sports and local cultural activities, strengthening community spirit, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle through events like the Regatta Telaga Air. The event is also part of efforts to stimulate economic and social growth in Kampung Telaga Air and neighbouring villages.
MPP Chairman Tan Kai said, “The Regatta Telaga Air is a celebration of our cultural heritage and also a platform to unite the community, promote healthy living, and boost the local economy. I urge everyone to take part, whether as participants or spectators, and make this year’s regatta a memorable one.”
