Wilfred Yap Delivers on Carpark Upgrade, Moves Ahead with Street Lighting Initiative
State Assemblyman for Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap conducted a final inspection of the resurfaced carparks at the Seven Mile Community Association Hall.
The project, financed through his 2025 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocation, was aimed at improving accessibility and safety for residents attending funeral services. The hall is often used by families who lack suitable space in their homes for last rites ceremonies. The upgraded parking area now offers better convenience and comfort for visitors during such occasions.
Another project is a street lighting project under his 2026 RTP allocation of RM200,000.
He recently visited Jalan Sungai Tapang and Jalan Kampung Sungai Tapang with community leaders and SESCO officers to assess appropriate locations for new streetlight installations. The initiative is intended to improve visibility, enhance safety for pedestrians and motorcyclists, and help deter crime in areas that are currently poorly lit.
Yap stressed that project implementation must always be driven by actual community needs and supported by technical evaluations. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with all relevant agencies to ensure that the lighting project is executed efficiently and brings long-term benefit to the people of Kota Sentosa.
