Chairman of MPP, Tan Kai unveils new shipment of apples from Yantai, China

With Hari Raya approaching, Padawan Municipal Council Chairman, Tan Kai unveils a new festive packaging with the arrival of a fresh shipment of Yantai apples today which marks another milestone in the enduring friendship between Padawan and Yantai, China.

Tan Kai said since Padawan and Yantai established sister city ties in 2017, their partnership has grown significantly, with Yantai apples emerging as a symbol of the strong connection between the two regions. More than just a fruit, the apples represent economic collaboration, boosting trade and creating new business opportunities in Padawan.

With this latest shipment, he said Sarawakians can enjoy high-quality Yantai apples at more affordable prices, making them a perfect addition to Hari Raya celebrations. The direct import of these apples reflects a commitment to providing fresh, premium produce at competitive prices, benefiting both consumers and local markets.

“These apples are more than just a product; they symbolize the friendship and shared prosperity between Yantai and Padawan. Through this partnership, we are not only strengthening economic ties but also fostering deeper cultural and business exchanges. We hope to continue exploring opportunities in trade, tourism, education, and other areas of cooperation,” he said.

Among those present at the event were Padawan Municipal Council Chairman Cr. Tan Kai, Deputy Chairman Cr.
