Sebastian Ting shares joy with Special kids in Miri

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries, and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting, spent a meaningful morning spreading joy with special kids at the Persatuan Prihatin Masyarakat Miri.

Ting emphasized the importance of collective efforts in uplifting disadvantaged communities, highlighting the Sarawak government’s commitment to promoting care and support services.

“Our Sarawak government remains dedicated to ensuring that every corner is filled with care and hope to provide assistance to the elderly and disadvantaged,” he said during the Miri Community Care Team’s New Year’s Warmth and Care Charity Event this morning.

He also outlined several welfare policies initiated by the Sarawak government, such as the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund Scheme, the Sarawak Senior Citizens Health Welfare Scheme, and the Sarawak Kenyalang Gold Card, which aim to enhance the lives of the people.

“This event is not only a celebration of Chinese New Year but also a testament to delivering love and care. Chinese New Year symbolizes a new beginning, and this warmth will accompany every child and family toward a brighter future,” Ting added.

Ting lauded the efforts of Miri Weixin Amusement Park, a center providing treatment and support for children with cerebral palsy. He described it as a “harbor of hope” for both children and their families.

“The care and treatment these children receive here not only improve their quality of life but also ignite hope for their families,” he said, praising the dedication of the staff and volunteers for their love, patience, and professionalism.

A community representative echoed Ting’s sentiments, calling the initiative a noble cause that combines love, patience, and professional knowledge.

He thanked volunteers and donors for their selfless dedication, which ensured the success of the event and brought meaningful support to those in need.
