Chinese new year celebrations for SUPP at BCCK
The Sarawak-Level Chinese New Year Celebration 2025 will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on January 29.
Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian said Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi will grace the celebration.
“Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang are also expected to be present to enliven the atmosphere,” he said in a press conference at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Wednesday.
Dr. Sim added, the celebration this year will be held earlier to give space to those who will be busy with Chinese New Year preparations.
“The celebration will start as early as 8.45 a.m until 2 p.m. So, for those who want to attend, make sure to arrive before 2 p.m,,” he explained.
Dr. Sim also expects 5,000 visitors to enliven the celebration this year.
The celebration is expected to be lively with various interesting events planned as well as being a platform to strengthen the spirit of unity among the multiracial community in Sarawak.
Also present at the press conference were Minister for Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, and Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee.
