MPP Chairman, Cr. Tan Kai urges public not to dump waste on private property
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman, Cr. Tan Kai visited an illegal dumping site with his enforcement after receiving reports and photographic evidence of ongoing unauthorized waste dumping on private land in Sejijak, Batu Kawa.
The MPP Chairman reminded the public that private land should not be used for depositing or dumping any form of refuse or wastewhether by the owner, occupier, or any unauthorized individual. Strict enforcement measures will be taken against offenders under the Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By-laws, 1999. Under By-law 13(3) of the said bylaws, offenders may face a penalty of up to RM2,000 or six months’ imprisonment, or both.
He called to business owners generating excess waste to apply for Additional Collection Services (ACR) through the Public Health Division of MPP. This service ensures proper waste management, allowing businesses to maintain clean premises and provide a pleasant environment for surrounding residents.
Tan Kai assured that MPP will continue monitoring and enforcement operations to curb illegal dumping activities and uphold cleanliness and public health standards. These efforts reaffirm the Council’s commitment to protecting the environment and building a clean and sustainable Padawan for its residents.
