Kho Teck Wan blasts Chong Chieng Jen

In response to Sarawak DAP Chairman YB Chong Chien Jen’s statement urging the Sarawak GPS government to address rising air ticket prices. SUPP Central Women Chairman and Political Secretary to YAB Premier Kho Teck Wan is curious as to why Chong chooses to issue press statements and post statements in social media instead of using the mandate given to him by the people to bring this concern to the parliament.

She said Chong knows rightly that the authority to regulate and govern the transport industries which includes aviation is under the purview of the Federal Transport Ministry. As a senior member of parliament and having the privilege of being given the mandate by the people of Bandar Kuching and then Stampin over the last 20 years.

“I may also ask why Chong chooses to urge the Sarawak GPS government to address the rising air ticket prices instead of discussing the issue with the Malaysia Transport Minister who is none other than the DAP Secretary General YB Anthony Loke, his own party’s Secretary General.

Sarawak GPS government through iGPS program provides air ticket subsidy twice a year to full time IPTA and IPTS students. The purchase of MASwing which is in progress is another effort by the Sarawak GPS government to address the rising air ticket cost, ” she said.

Kho hoped that instead of pushing the issue to the GPS government and doing lip service in the press, Chong addressed the issue of rising ticket prices with real actions. Together we help solve Sarawakian’s air ticket prices issue.
