Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian hands over allocation for newly constructed chapel
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian handed over RM 100,000 for St Mary Chapel which was constructed on state land yesterday.
Dr Sim said estimated cost of Chapel is at RM1.27 million and todate, they had paid more than RM900,000.
He said fund raising was done by the Dayak community in Sungai Apong Baru and it has taken them for more than five years to see the fruits of their work when works on the Chapel started last year.
UNIFOR donated RM500,000 last year and this year they donated RM 100,000.
The Chapel is five minutes walking distance for the local bumi community.
