Hainan Haikou University accepts Sarawak students
The fifth batch of six students from Hainan Haikou University of Economics and Trade recommended by the Padawan Municipal Council and accepted by Hainan Haikou University of Economics and Trade left for further study this morning.
The group of local students and parents led by Cr Amy Tnay will be arriving at Haikou University on the 10th and will be received by the school and sent to the campus for immediate registration.
Hainan Haikou University of Economics and Trade has entrusted the Padawan Municipal Council to recruit high school graduates from Padawan City since 2019 and provided these students with four years of free scholarships.
Tnay said since 2019 until now Padawan Municipal Council has recommended 32 local students to study at Hainan Haikou University of Economics and Trade.
Among them, the students who enrolled in 2019 had successfully graduated in early June this year and returned after completing their studies.
Three graduates have now successfully returned to Malaysia are employed in the private sector.
For the four-year college tuition it was worth RM2 million for 32 local students and besides it establish diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.
State Assemblyman Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang, SUPP Batu Kitang Branch youth chief Councilor Alvin Chong together with organizing secretary Gerald Goh were at the airport to send them off early in the morning.
