Getting Malaysian citizenship
The Kueh family thanked Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian for assisting their three children to get the Malaysian citizenship recently.
Dr Sim congrats the family for receiving the citizenship. He said it has been an uphill battle and to be stateless, one faces many social stigma.
The stateless faces a lot of inconveniences as they do not have legal documents like identity cards, driving licences, passports or bank accounts among other things which most people take for granted.
He said the next thing for the Kueh’s children was to apply for their identity cards.
