State Assemblyman Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang in Haikou University
State Assemblyman Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang who is also Padawan Municipal Council Chairman accompanied 19 local students to report to Haikou University of Economics recently.
Haikou University of Economics is one of the two universities in China which has a MOU between Padawan Municipal council. The university provide 12 full scholarships for outstanding students from Kuching.
The entourage included the deputy secretary of Padawan Municipal Council, Ir Daniel Goh, Cr Amy Tnay, Cr Jong Tian Kiong and Cr Yeo Eng Kuang.
Chen Xiao, the principal of the University, warmly welcomed the visit of Lo and others, and said that with the reopening of schools after China’s epidemic prevention policy, students studying in China can gradually returned to school.
The delegation were given a detailed introduction to the school’s running situation and history, and the principal thanked the Padawan Municipal Council for its strong support for the school’s work on international students.
This is one of the ways to further enhance cooperation in training students through educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Malaysia.
Lo expressed his gratitude to the University of Haikou Economics for its warm reception during the visit.
“Padawan Municipal Council attaches great importance to the cooperation with the School of Economics and hopes to carry out multi-faceted cooperation through joint training of international talents and jointly holding international activities”
