Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian at a blood donation campaign at Moyan Square mall
Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian congratulated Persatuan Alumni SMK Batu Kawa for organising a blood donation campaign at Moyan Square Mall, Batu Kawa.
Dr Sim said Malaysian Red Crescent h members who are dedicated and worked well with Sarawak Blood Bank staff to organise such campaigns.
He said it is a good deed as through blood donation campaign, many lives can be saved.
“The SGH Blood Bank is always in need of blood and with their hard work, this is the reason why Sarawak is the champion of blood donation by volunteers for 19 years in a row. Sarawak may be small in population but Sarawakians have big hearts, readily to donate to save another Sarawakian’s life,” he added.
Dr. Sim said during the covid period, it was so difficult for volunteers to donate blood even though they were willing. Now as Sarawak is opened up, many things are going back to normal.
However, he cautioned the public still to be alert and wear masks in crowded places.
