New parking lot for Rajah Charles Brooke memorial hospital

Rajah Charles Brooke memorial hospital will be having a new tar-sealed car park soon.

The parking lot is being constructed at an empty land in front of the hospital along Jalan Puncak Borneo to cater to the increasing number of patients there.

Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang said the new car park will be able to allow at least 30 parking spaces or more.

Lo, who was at the site on Thursday morning said the hospital used to house leprosy patients there but now it has turned into an ordinary hospital that caters to the needs of the residents around the area and there is increase in vehicles with double parking and parking along the road which is dangerous to road users and the patients.

He said JKR will be taking care of the project and he will keep an update of what is happening. The car park is expected to eb completed in three weeks time.

Lo said as the hospital is along the main road, he urged road users not to speed when approaching the hospital. He said JKR will put a pedestrian walk there and maybe later, if possible, they will put up a traffic light.
