New contractor for Batu Kawah Phase 5 riverbank project
Deputy premier, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian witnessed the hand over of RM11.3 million contract of DID Director Ir Ahmad Denney to contractor, Wong King Kau yesterday.
Dr Sim said a new contractor will undertake a project at Kpg Rantau Panjang riverbank protection (phase 5 of Batu Kawa Riverbank park).
Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hain who witnessed the handing over of the RM11.3 million contract by DID Sarawak Director Ir Ahmad Denney and team to a successful contractor through open tender said the new contractor has assured that he had placed order and payment for the imported construction materials which will be able to arrive in 3-4 months time.
The first contractor was terminated after failure to start the project after one year with an open tender of $7.8 million.
Dr. Sim said the new contractor hoped to catch up with lost time for the 2nd last phase of the 5 phases of Batu Kawa Riverbank park.
