SUPP wins big
The result is as expected when SUPP Party president, Dato Sri Dr Sim secured 7,827 votes to win with a bigger majority this election by 5,393 votes.
DAP ’s Bandar Kuching MP Kelvin Yii could only manage 2,434 votes, while Parti Bumi Kenyalang’s Chai Kueh Khun and Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak’s Fong Pau Teck lost their deposit after they received 756 and 133 votes respectively.
As expected, MPP Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang garnered 6307 votes with a handsomely majority of 4163 votes while his three opponents, Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Liu Thian Leong obtained 1, 812 votes and DAP, Abdul Azis Isa, 2144 votes while PBK, Wong Tun Teck got 675 votes.
The total turnout votes is 10,938 while there are 107 spoilt votes.
In his winning speech, Lo said he appreciated the people’s confidence in him and said he will do his best to work harder to prove his sincerity.
“I am glad my years of hard work paid off and people can see for themselves and appreciate me” he added.
