Grateful for Sebastian Ting’s help
GPS /SUPP Piasau incumbent Datuk Sebastian Ting was contacted via video call by one Yoo Jay Ven, whom he helped to bring back when stuck in Philippines in the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic last year.
Yoo from West Malaysia, was one of the 180 Malaysians who was working in Philippines for many years and was unable to return back to Malaysia due to movement control order.
He was advised to seek Ting’s help who contacted the Malaysian Embassy and other authorities, making it possible for uthe Malaysians stuck there to return home.
Yoo said the Malaysians there felt all hope was gone and a helping hand was extended to them, and he is grateful to Ting.
Last Thursday, Ting also received a courtesy visit from Billy Chai, who also had returned from the Philippines in mid-September. Chai was very ill after contracting Covid-19. He later learned Ting had crowdfund to pay for his medical expenses in Philippines.
