Book “Work like a Cow, documented Sih Hua Tong years of service to the community

Friends of GPS/SUPP candidate for Batu Lintang, Sih Hua Tong put together a book which documented his work in the past decades.

Last night, Sih himself launched the book titled, “Work like a Cow” at a restaurant.

Pictures and captions in the book showed Sih rendering services to the under-previlege, the needy and the less fortunate on all sorts of problems from application of citizenship to drainage problems, flood, medical among others.

Former party leader, Datuk David Teng who was at the function called to supporters to give Hua Tong a chance. He said Hua Tong had lost twice before and many people would just give up. But, he said, Hua Tong still continued to go to the ground and assist those in need despite knowing the majority had voted against him.

“Such patience and kindness in a person is rare today. We need to have such a personality in our society and this is the chance to retain him by voting him to bring a bigger voice to you all,” said Teng. .

During the launching, a number of those who Sih has helped came forward to give their emotional accounts of how they were let down by the system but Hua Tong went all the way to assist them.

One men broke down as he recalled how desperate he was when his daughter who was ‘stateless’ was given citizenship years after Hua Tong tirelessly pursued the matter. He said today his daughter has gone to school with no fear of being turned away.

All of them called for the voters to give Hua Tong a chance as many said despite some saying they offered to give him publicity after their successes, Hua Tong turned them down.
