Dr. Sim Kui Hian officiates the opening of Padawan Recreational Park

Recreation parks build for public for the community should be kept cleaned and treasured at all times, said Padawan Municipal Council Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang at the opening of the Mile 10 Kota Padawan Recreational Club recently.

Lo appealed to the public and the community, who visited the park not to litter or vandalise the facilities.

“Consider the park a place of your own where you go to relax and exercise and for your children who were able to use the children facilities, as a special gift from Sarawak Government to you. So please take care of it, he said.

Lo added that Community parks like this normally provides a variety of benefits to the surrounding area. Community Parks are meant to have many activities and amenities to keep visitors of all ages active and engaged for an entire day.

“Because it is a safe place for physical activity, it will help to enhance and elevate value of the property market in the immediate vicinity. There are also many other ways for both the residents and local government officials to benefit from such recreational parks,” he added.

He thanked Local Government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian for officiating at the ceremony and for securing the funds to finance this project from the State Government.

Lo also urged the Padawan community to extend their support to the GPS government so that they will continue to take care of the welfare of the Sarawakians well and not to let outsiders who know little to nothing about Sarawak.

The Padawan Recreational park cost RM1.5 million which stands on 1.51 acre. The project started in November 2020 and ended in May this year.
