Open tender for Sarawak contractors to do riverbank protection works
Local government and Housing Minister, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian said the Drainage Irrigation Department (DID) Sarawak invited fellow Sarawakian contractors to participate in open tender of Kpg Sinar Budi Lama – riverbank protection (opposite Batu Kawa Riverbank Park), Kpg Rantau Panjang – riverbank protection, phase 5 of Batu Kawa Riverbank Park. (Retender as the previous successful open tender’s contractor requested mutual termination in view of substantial increase in cost of materials during pandemic),Sg Surih – Flood mitigation & drainage upgrade (Part 1 of 4 parts estimated together $34 million as land acquisition ~$20 million) and Jalan Field Force – Flood mitigation & drainage upgrade.
Dr. Sim thanked DID Sarawak for continuing to tender out the four important projects in Batu Kawa, in order to implement the project as soon as possible.
He added that it was the Sarawak government who wanted to upgrade infrastructure for the people to make life more comfortable for them.
