Lo Khere Chiang looking at the Haji Baki Hillside repair project
JKR has done repair works Wednesday morning at the old Batu Kitang Road due to numerous complains made.
State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who was informed of the poor road conditions had alerted relevant authorities and repair work was carried out immediately yesterday.
Lo said the old Batu Kitang road cannot handle big lorry from Bau and urged heavy vehicle owners not to use that way as their weight could damage the road especially during this rainy season.
He said JKR has put notices yesterday allowing only vehicles below 5 tons and advised heavy vehicles to use other routes.
On Tuesday, lanes beside Haji baki Hill was reopened thus there is less traffic jam on the road.
Lo urged road users to use the access roads beside hilltop for safety purposes.
He said he understood the inconvenience of road users as roads are closed and reopened frequently due to repair and upgrading.
“Do bear with us. This is temporary as once all these are done, everyone will have a smooth ride,” he assured.
