BKSS for petty traders and hawkers
The recipients of Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) 6.0 for Petty Traders and hawkers will be paid the amount of RM1,500 in 2 phases, Phase I : RM750 in July 2021 and Phase II: RM750 in December 2021.
In a press statement issued by Local government and Housing, the licensed petty traders and hawkers, Local Authority will extract their information direct from the existing licensing system while for new unlicensed or temporary petty traders and hawkers, application will be opened effective from June 1 2021 until 30″.
The previous recipient were told not to apply for the permit, but need to update their SarawakPay account status at the Local Authority
The application can be applied through online platform
(https://community-service.sarawak.gov.my) or manual application at the Local Authority.
Eligible applicant will be as follow:Food stall, Lock up shop, Market,Village shop / isolated shop, Barber / hair saloon, Canteen (individual owner). The payment for BKSS will be channelled through SarawakPay.
Criteria to qualify for BKSS included traders must be a Sarawakian residing and trading in Sarawak.
Age must be 18 years and above. Trader must be a genuine trader that has been personally trading physically such as operating a stall, kiosk, roadside stalls etc. before June 1 2021.
Stalls trading inside the coffee-shops are eligible to be registered but with the necessary documentation of personal trading.
Online business is not included. Traders must be registered with the Council and obtain a permit issued by the Council. The last day for the application of the permit shall be June 30 2021. The validity of the permit shall be from June to November 2021 and the permit fee of RM30 per month during this period shall be waived.
All information given by the trader must be accurate, truthful and factual. If any false or inaccurate information is given, the application will not be considered. In the case of permit has been issued, the Council has the right to cancel the permit.
The power and discretion to determine the genuinity and qualification of the trader to be given a permit and incentive lies with the Council.
The decision made by the Council is final and no appeal is allowed. Payment for BKSS can be channelled using SarawakPay.
