Dr Sim identifies CCTV at 18 strategic location in Batu Kawa
Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak will cooperation with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) to install CCTVs at 18 strategic location in Batu Kawa.
Batu Kawah assemblyman Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian and Padawan Municipal council secretary Elizabeth had identified the location yesterday.
Sim discloses that the project open tender process will start soon.
After which, the CCTV will be installed at Kuching City Mall Commercial Centre A/B, TAMAN Desa Wira shoplot (market) A/B, Emart Batu Kawa commercial centre A/B, Public Square commercial centre, Batu Kawah new township A-E, Batu Kawah new township wet market, BK Square shoplot, Batu Kawah Bazaar (old town & Waterfront), Batu Kawa commercial centre (38 shoplot) and Taman Sri Moyan.
In fact, such project to strengthen and improve public’s safety will cover 4 local councils in southern region – MBKS (317 CCTVs in 80 locations), DBKU (310 CCTVs in 80 locations), Padawan Municipal Council (119 CCTVs in 30 locations) and Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (79 CCTVs in 20 locations).
A total of 800 CCTVs will be installed in 200 strategic locations in Greater Kuching. Mostly in populated with high traffic flow area.
All CCTV will operate 24/7 and all data will be transmitted to Sarawak integrated command centre.
