Dr. Sim Kui Hian calls to public to register for Covid-19 vaccine

Minister for Local government and Housing, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian once again appealed and encouraged the public to register for Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

He said that in addition to strictly complying with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), vaccination is an important step to fight the virus. To create herd immunity, he said it is important for at least 70 percent of Sarawakians to be vaccinated.

He explained that the so-called strict compliance with standard operating procedures include wearing masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing and avoiding participation in group activities.

Dr Sim added that said that Pfizer vaccine helps fight of the virus by 95%.

He thanked non-governmental organizations in assisting the government to promote the registration of vaccinations, which will help raise people’s awareness of fighting the epidemic.
