Wilfred Yap checks on poor road condition at Jalan Liu Shan Bang
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap heard complained of the poor condition of the road intersection with traffic lights at Jalan Liu Shan Bang/Batu Tujuh, Kota Sentosa. The matter was brought up to the attention of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Engineering Department and the government funding for the upgrading and maintenance works which recently approved.
Yap said he is very grateful to MPP and their contractor for agreeing to his request to carry out the upgrading and maintenance works at night due to the heavy traffic during the day at this intersection and to prevent traffic jam and minimize inconvenience to the public.
He said he will continue to serve as the eyes and ears of the community living there to ensure that the infrastructure facilities in the Kota Sentosa area are maintained properly for the benefit of the community living there. Wilfred Yap will also continue to highlight and try to resolve issues of public interest affecting the public.
On another matter, there now appears to be light at the end of the tunnel with the impending roll out of mass Covid 19 vaccination by the Government. With the end of Covid-19 pandemic in the not too distant future, Yap hoped that the Federal and Sarawak Government will now focus beyond Covid-19 and use all policy tools at its disposal to create jobs and investment opportunities which will directly generate jobs. Emphasis should now be on long-term job creation measures and incentives matching productivity with a living wage especially for the older workers aged above 45 through resklling, upskilling and training programmes.
