SUPP is all set to deliver in coming elections, says President Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian
SUPP President, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian said he is committed to delivering all its 27 state and parliamentary seats for state ruling coalition come the next elections as the four coalition parties will work together to ensure their wins at the party’s convention meeting.
Dr Sim, who is also local Government and Housing Minister said the four component parties of GPS namely SUPP, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) cannot afford to have internal fights in any constituency.
SUPP has representatives in Batu Kawah, Batu Kitang, Serian, Simanggang, Repom, Piasau, Senadin and Meradong. Previously, SUPP has contested in 20 state seats and seven parliamentary constituencies. The 20 state seats are Opar, Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Batu Kawah, Batu Kitang, Mambong, Simanggang, Engkilili, Repok, Meradong, Bukit Assek, Dudong, Bawang Assan, Pelawan, Tanjong Batu, Piasau, Pujut and Senadi, while the seven parliamentary ones are Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Serian, Sarikei, Lanang, Sibu and Miri.
Dr. Sim praised Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari who was at the function to officiate the closing ceremony for his strong leadership where GPS has grown stronger despite a period if PH’s 22 month’s rule.
“Sarawak’s revenue had increased from RM6 billion in 2018 to RM10 billion this year and I believe that the state’s revenue would probably hike to RM15 billion after 2023.With the funding by Abang Johari for Unifor (Unit for Other Religions), Chinese education, our CM has been a leader for all races and religions.
Thanking Abang Jo for RM2.25 billion under the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) to help Sarawakians cushion the impact of the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Sim said SDMC (Sarawak Disaster Management Committee) has handled the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak very well despite the rest of the country farring poorly. He also urged Sarawakians to continue to be vigilant in following SOP and keep the pandemic at bay.
