Wilfred Yap deals with poor earth drains at Kung Phin area
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap was told of complaints from Kung Phin residents about the poor condition of the earth drains along some stretches there.
Yap thanked Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) for the commencement of upgrading works of earth drains to concrete drains on some stretches of Kung Phin road and hoped that the residents will be patient and understand that the earth drains along Kung Phin road cannot be upgraded all at once but in phases due to limited development funding.
Yap was on his regular “turun padang” activity with local community leaders and members to areas within Kota Sentosa when he was approached by residents to request the local Council to carry out improvement and repair works to damaged infrastructure facilities like drains and roads.
Following such requests for assistance received, the problems are always immediately communicated to the relevant authorities for their speedy action to carry maintenance and repair works.
On another matter, Yap said there have been numerous unsubstantiated provocative and political statements recently on various unproductive/speculative issues from PSB and DAP due to the 12th Sarawak State Elections likely to be held soon as the current term of the Sarawak State Assembly will be ending in less than 9 months.
Yap who is also SUPP Kota Sentosa Chairman hoped that politicians from PSB and DAP instead of politicking through misinformation using the media would instead place the needs of the people first and to have their problems and request for development resolved and settled as topmost priority. He also hoped that DAP and PSB will also put “people over politics” instead of “excessive politicking” by resolving problems faced by the “rakyat” especially so during this period of RMCO due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Regardless of the politicking from PSB and DAP during this Covid-19 pandemic, he assured the public that it will continue to be focused and fully committed to serving the “rakyat” by being their eyes and ears and shall continue to speak out on matters of good governance and fairness in accordance with the rule of law by using the proper channels.
