Traffic jams at Batu Kawa Taman Desa Wira area to be solved with approved RM1.43 million road upgrading project
Peak hour jams at Batu Kawa Taman Desa Wira area will be solved with the approved RM1.43 million road upgrading project, by Sarawak government.
The works will be carried out by CMS Quarries Sdn Bhd start from this month till July next year, to upgrade and widen the road to solve the long exist massive jams issue during peak hours at the area.
Minister of Housing and Local Government Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is Batu Kawah assemblyman, witness the contract award ceremony by JKR Sarawak to CMS Quarries Sdn Bhd yesterday.
After the ceremony, Dr Sim discloses that this proposal has been submitted to previous 22 months PH federal government, but was ignored by them. Batu Kawa road belongs to federal government’s jurisdiction, hence they have obligation to upgrade and do the improvement when necessary, but they don’t.
“If federal government never fulfill their responsibilities to maintain and upgrade our road, then they should not collect road tax and taxes from Sarawak.”, says Dr Sim.
Sim also mentioned that ex PH Works Minister is a Sarawkian, he should had approved this proposal which will benefit the Sarawakians, but previous PH federal government just ignored it.
Dr. Sim says that he then have to seek for Sarawak government funding for this Batu Kawa road upgrading, after the no reply from previous PH federal government, and Abang Johari has since approved it.
“Where is the DAP promised 50% collected tax return to Sarawak?”, asked Sim to DAP.
