Wilfred Yap calls for understanding and nit vent in social media if some problems are unsolvable

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief Wilfred Yap have regularly been approached by the public on problems of various kinds that they are facing. From the interviews carried out with these people by SUPP PCB, it was discovered that the majority of them do not understand the procedures or the requirements of the various government departments concerned and their failure to furnish all the relevant documents required to the government department or authorities concerned and hence the problems they face.

Yap said he would like to notify the public that to prevent delays in the processing and approval of their application from various government departments, they should first of all make sure that they furnish all the relevant information and documents and he is not in a position to assist in situations where the complainant have failed to comply with the requirements laid down by the government department or authority concerned.

There are also individuals coming to seek assistance from us, he added, after they have been made bankrupts by their creditors. He pointed out that a person can only be made a bankrupt through bankruptcy proceedings initiated by their creditor after their creditor have obtained a final judgment from court. In such cases, SUPP PCB’s advice is always for the frustrated individual to refer back to the lawyer they first engaged to seek a proper explanation. For the record, SUPP PCB cannot bend the law and have no power to set aside a court judgment or set aside a bankruptcy order no matter how unhappy or frustrated the individual is.

Yap hoped that disgruntled individuals seeking assistance from him will not resort to vent their frustrations on social media platforms in situations where the SUPP PCB cannot give them the desired outcome they want due to reasons which are beyond SUPP PCB’s control.

He assured the public that he will continue to be focused and fully committed to serving the “rakyat” in accordance with the rule of law.

“To those who don’t understand the content of court orders/judgments or other documents, SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap is always willing to lend a helping hand to explain. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP PCB’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.

The public can also submit complaints online to Talikhidmat or its Call Centre at telephone contact 555999 (fixed line throughout Sarawak) and 082-555999 (for mobile phone users) for matters concerning government departments or agencies failing to provide good services, ” he said.
