Batu Kawa abandoned quarry beautification transformation officially starts

Batu Kawa abandoned Ang Cheng Ho quarry’s transformation will start officially in its Phase 1 beautify and development project by November, 16 and is scheduled to be completed in 15 months with the cost of Rm9.8 million.

Local government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr. Sim Kui Hian said the multi purpose sports/community Hall with innovation hub will be built during phase 1. It will have a multi purpose hall with approximately 19,375 square feet that can house one thousand people for events, a pre-painted basketball court and an office space at upper level as an innovation hub for new young entrepreneurs.

On July,11, Padawan Municipal Council appointed a Mapping and Architect for this project followed by an open tender.

Dr Sim, who is also Batu Kawa assemblyman, witnessed representative for Padawan Municipal Council Architect Roland Rengga Jemie handover letter of award to successful contractor Tenaga Sri Wangsa Sdn Bhd, today.

During the ceremony, Dr Sim disclosed that today’s contract awarding only represents the phase 1 transformation plan for the abandoned Ang Cheng Ho quarry, there will be water sports, extreme sports activities, a recreation park as well as entertainment facilities in the future development plan.
