Senator Datuk Dr Sim on party unity
Secretary general of SUPP Senator Datuk Dr. Sim called to the old cadre to recruit their children and grandchildren aged 18 to be members of the party as out of the 110,000 members the party has all over Sarawak, only 3,000 were below 30 years old.
In his speech at the Kota Sentosa SUPP 55th party anniversary dinner last night, Sim said he was glad to see a lot of young people at the dinner and that there will be hope of the continuation for the party if every cadre put their minds to recruit more members.
He said although SUPP did not fare too well during the last few elections and with the problem of Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak, Peace and all the negative issues, Sim said they should put that all behind them and move on.
“We should not let a few people destroy our party and our spirit. We should move on for the sake of all, of what SUPP stands for which is to continue to serve the people. Although there was allegation of hundreds and even thousands deserting SUPP, I as secretary general have not received a single letter from anyone wanting to quit the party,” he said.
Sim urged the members to continue to serve the people and respect their leaders.
