Let Sarawak control Health and Education ministries, says Lo
Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang laughed at the contradiction statement between MP Stampin Chong Chieng Jen and Minister of Finance (MOF)is a joke when it comes to helping Sarawak repair dilapidated schools.
Lo said Chong claimed that there is an ongoing work done to repair dilapidated school in Sarawak while MOF said the project for the repair has been delayed.
He said despite 92 billion ringgit siphoned to Malaya annually, the repair of schools which may be around RM 1 billion was not even taken into consideration to help the schools. Lo added that Sarawak government has to come up with RM600,000 to repair some of the urgent needed schools which are on the verge of collapsing.
PH government, he said, is not serious in delivering any assistance to Sarawak and there should not be any dilapidated schools in the first place.
Lo said the autonomy of Education and Health should be given back to Sarawak as he believed there are capable people in Sarawak who can run both ministries well. He said such an opportunity should be given to Sarawak to show how Sarawakians can do well, if not better than Malaya.
While Malaya infrastructure is in tip-top conditions, Lo urged the PH to have a look at the poor road condition and how backward the facilities are in the State. What they have given to us is small change after taking RM92 billion annually in oil and gas, he added.
