Plan to speed up approval

The Ministry of Local Government and Housing held a Joint Technical Consultative Committee (JTCC) meeting to discuss the standardisation of requirements and process to expedite building plan approval.

In a statement following the meeting, a number of issues have been resolved. Among others, the meeting discussed on the preparedness of each agencies and practitioners on the implementation of e-submission of building plans.

In addition, standardization of facilities for disabled people such as ramp, toilets, vertical access, stairs, parking space and signage at the hospital, clinics, restaurant and other public area were also discussed.

The meeting was chaired by YB Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Local Government and Housing Sarawak and attended Encik Bakrie Zaini, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Local Government and Housing by representative from Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia Sarawak Chapter (PAMSC), Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), BOMBA, Land and Survey, and major councils in the State.
