Kho questioned Pakatan Harapan’s ‘New Deal Agreement’ with BN Sarawak
SUPP Central Women Section Chairman Kho Teck Wan expressed her concern over the Pakatan Harapan’s ‘New Deal Agreement’ to BN Sarawak. “Why would Sarawak BN government enter into a ‘New Deal Agreement’ with Pakatan Harapan which its status of registration is in question. Our rights are safeguarded in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and Intergovernmental Committee Report since 1963, why do we need another agreement?” Asked Kho.
Sarawak formed Malaysia with Malaya, North Borneo (Sabah) and Singapore as a partner in 1963. Our founders had fought hard so Sarawak’s special rights, and autonomy are spelled out in the international treaty — which is the MA63 and Intergovernmental Report.
Sarawak Barisan Nasional is committed in delivering Sarawak’s autonomy through the devolution of power based on MA63.
Any ‘new deal agreement’ from Malaya party should be treated with extreme care.
If the opposition parties truly want to fight for Sarawak, they should join the Sarawak based political party. Sarawakian cannot trust Malayan opposition parties to fight for us.
“So I urge my fellow Sarawakian to support and work together with Barisan Nasional Sarawak to build a stronger Sarawak. Only a coalition built under Sarawak-based parties will and is capable of fighting for Sarawak’s interest.” Kho emphasized.
