Dialogue with Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPV) Unit
SUPP Youth récentl conducted a dialogue with the Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPV) Unit, Kuching police district, aimed at understanding its operation.
Those present included SUPP Youth Central Secretary-General Milton Foo, Kuching South City Councilor Lim Swee Chiaw, Alex Pui and Albert Tay.
SUPP Youth also took the opportunity to provide information of the crime black-zones in Kuching with high crime rate, in order for the patrol team to pay higher attention in these areas, which include Pearl Commercial Centre in Tanah Putih and the newly built City Square Business Centre.
Milton Foo pointed out that the above locations are tagged as burglary zone.
According to Sergeant Lim, senior assistant inspector of the police patrol car fleet, the main task of the police patrol car is to prevent crime, carry out patrols and act as front-line support. If there is an occurrence of crime the patrol cars can arrive at the scene within 15 minutes after receiving the report.
