Solving problems at Stampin Resettlement Scheme
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) was recently informed by concerned residents staying in Lorong 28 of Stampin Resettlement Scheme, Jalan Stampin Baru about the dilapidated condition of a house a poor family was staying in. The residents had also informed him that the flooring of one of the bedroom in the house had recently collapsed.
Following the information and request for assistance received, SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap together with Temenggong Tan Joo Poi, Penghulu Thian Sing Hua, Kapitan Chai Yong Liang and other community leaders had gone to inspect and assess the situation to see what can be done to resolve the problem faced by the poor family.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau will assist the poor family to apply for financial assistance for the repair of the dilapidated house from the relevant authorities and other available financial assistance from the Government.
On another matter, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau will assist residents to complain to the Kuching City South Council (MBKS) for the removal of the illegal rubbish dump at Lorong 30, Stampin Resettlement Scheme and for proper signage be put up to warn irresponsible members of the public from illegally throwing rubbish along Lorong 30.
SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap hopes that the public is aware that illegally dumped rubbish costs rate payers a lot of money each year in removal charges. Instead of dumping rubbish illegally, anyone who needs to dispose bulk rubbish should contact Trienekens @ (082) 612300 for their rates and charges.
At the same time, Wilfred Yap would like to encourage the public to play their role by assisting MBKS through reporting or lodging a complaint if they see anyone illegally dumping rubbish by the roadside. The public can report to MBKS the offenders who dispose rubbish illegally by giving MBKS information such as the registration number of the offender’s vehicle, location, date, time, description of rubbish and description of offender. A photo of the offender of illegal rubbish dumping taken from a hand phone will be very effective in identifying the offender.
